Brief information:

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, (birth name Chandra Mohan Jain) was born on December 11, 1931, in Kuchwada, India. He is more popularly known as “OSHO” and was a religious figure, a guru and a spiritual leader.

In around 1970, OSHO made his way to become a spiritual leader and started to pull in a considerable number of followers. This happened after he graduated from college and asserting to have discovered enlightenment. In addition, he introduced the practice named “dynamic meditation” at a public meditation event on the same year.

OSHO discussed major spiritual traditions such as Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, Taoism and Christianity to a number of Eastern and Western mystics during his time. Furthermore, he also did not shy away from discussing several sacred scriptures like the Upanishads and the Guru Granth Sahib.

He is generally labeled and viewed as one the most controversial spiritual leaders coming from India in the twentieth century because of his ideas of sexual, emotional, spiritual, and institutional freedom. Hence, this guaranteed that his life will be accompanied by controversy and debate.
