  • Please explain how failure is the foundation of success

    • Failure is one of the best forms of learning. When a person fails he realizes what works and what doesn’t. Therefore, when that person tries again, he does it with a better approach. It is one of the reasons why there are more C-students that become successful in becoming self-made millionaires compared to the ones who were doing good at school. It’s because they are not afraid to fail and more importantly they keep on trying.

Probably the most famous example for this was Thomas Edison. As an inventor, Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. I’ve just found 1,000 ways that won’t work.”

In terms of problem solving, you might say it is similar to the “Trial and error method” .
